How do you clean the inside of a lawnmower engine?

Summer is in full swing and that means one thing: yard work. If you’re like me, your to-do list probably includes mowing the lawn. But have you ever stopped to think about how you clean the inside of a lawnmower engine?

Believe it or not, there’s a right way and a wrong way to do it. The wrong way can damage your engine and shorten its life span. So today, I’m going to teach you the right way to clean your lawnmower engine.

The first step is to remove the spark plug wire from the spark plug and ground it against the body of the mower. This will prevent sparks from flying around inside the engine while you’re cleaning it.

Next, remove any debris from around or inside of the engine with a shop vacuum or compressed air gun. Be sure not to damage any internal parts while doing this!
