If you’re like most people, you probably don’t think about cleaning your treadmill until it’s too late. And by then, the dirt and dust has built up to an inch thick, making it virtually impossible to clean. But with a few simple tips, you can keep your treadmill looking and running like new.
The first step is to unplug the treadmill and move it somewhere that’s easy to clean. If possible, remove the belt and wipe down the entire machine with a damp cloth. Be sure to get into all of the nooks and crannies, especially around the motor area.
Next, mix together one part vinegar with four parts water in a spray bottle. Spritz this mixture onto the belt and let it sit for about five minutes before wiping off with a damp cloth. The vinegar will help break down any built-up dirt or grease while also disinfecting surfaces.
Finally, vacuum or sweep up any remaining debris from under or around the treadmill before plugging it back in and using as usual!
